Child Protection and Safeguarding

Lahore American School is committed to ensuring the safety, protection, and wellbeing of every student. LAS has a designated Child Protection Officer (CPO) responsible for leading safeguarding efforts and ensuring concerns are taken seriously, addressed promptly, and handled with discretion. We strive to create a supportive school culture where students are protected, feel safe to speak up, and are cared for with dignity and respect. Safeguarding is a shared responsibility, and all members of our community play an active role in keeping children safe.

Key Safeguarding Commitments at LAS

  • A designated Child Protection Officer (CPO) on campus each school day to oversee student safety matters and respond to concerns
  • Mandatory annual safeguarding training for all staff, coaches, and volunteers to ensure awareness and readiness
  • Immediate reporting procedures for any concern - staff document and refer rather than investigate
  • Emphasis on student dignity, respectful conduct, and trauma-informed support in all interactions
  • Supervision and safe-interaction protocols - students are never left unsupervised, and one-to-one meetings occur in visible, monitored spaces
  • Secure and confidential record keeping to ensure child protection information is handled responsibly
  • Zero tolerance for abuse, bullying, harassment, or exploitation - including digital misconduct and cyberbullying
  • Safer recruitment processes to ensure all adults working with students meet safeguarding standards

Our Commitment

At Lahore American School, safeguarding is more than a policy; it is a shared commitment to nurturing a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment. We encourage students, parents, and staff to speak up and work together to protect every child’s right to feel secure, valued, and heard. Through continuous training, vigilant procedures, and a culture grounded in care and trust, LAS remains dedicated to the highest standards of child protection and wellbeing.
