Dr. Richel Dapudong is a Filipino citizen but he considers himself an international educator. He has a doctorate in Educational Management and Leadership, an M.Ed in Special Education, a magna cum laude graduate of Bachelor of Elementary Education, a TESOL certification, and a certified Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) by the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB) in Colorado, USA. Dr. Richel is a passionate teaching professional with over thirteen years of international school teaching and leadership experience in both elementary and secondary divisions following the UK national curriculum, Singapore Math, Cambridge, and IB programs. He has also contributed to the success of school visits and accreditations for both CIS and IB in his previous schools as part of the planning and leadership team. Prior to joining Lahore American School as the Director of Learning Support, Dr. Richel has held the position of an English/ESL and Mathematics teacher, SEN Teacher and Coordinator, IB PYP Homeroom Teacher, and Head of Student Support Services in Indonesia and Thailand with a summer school teaching experience in Myanmar.

He was also an adjunct lecturer at Ifugao State University’s transnational program in Bangkok where he taught education courses to both undergraduate and graduate school students for eight years with active involvement in research mentoring and peer reviews in international publications.

Dr. Richel firmly believes that each school must be inclusive where 21st-century learning skills, holistic well-being development, respect for diversity, and student-centered education are the top priorities. He strongly supports the International Baccalaureate’s mission which is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. Dr. Richel is living in Lahore with his wife and their two children, Bernice in Middle School and Benjamin in KG. When not at school, he is enjoying playing badminton and spending time with his family and friends.
