Lahore American
School offers a range of support services to all students to ensure
academic success including learning support, counselling, class
advisors and health services.

Learning support services are available for
selected students who, in spite of their best efforts, struggle
academically.
In order to be eligible for LSS, a student
referral is submitted to the learning support teacher for review
by the student's study team. Information will be gathered about
the student through teacher and parent observation, in-house diagnostic
assessment or an outside referral for testing. Following the referral
process, the student study team will determine whether the student
qualifies for learning support services.
The learning support services available at
LAS are limited in scope and depth. In general, students may receive
tutoring for writing, reading and math assignments up to one hour
per day.

EFL support is available for foreign students
in Grade 1 to Grade 8 for an additional fee. Support is intended
to supplement regular classroom instruction. Services are limited
in terms of time and scope. Generally, students may receive no
more than one (1) time period of instruction per day for up to
two (2) years in duration. EFL services may provide a separate
site for assessments and learning support for reading comprehension.

The Lahore American School offers a full time
counselling service for all students. The elementary and high
school counselor is available to meet with parents and students
to discuss educational, personal and developmental issues and
to coordinate assistance with the Principal.
LAS employs a full time Director of Guidance
who is also the Director of College and University Placement.
Their role is to assist students with academic and personal problems
and provide college and career information and guidance. The Director
of Guidance is directly responsible for a student's school records
and will discuss them with students and parents upon request.
Consultations with the Director of Guidance are confidential unless
the student gives permission to involve others.

In the high school, each class is assigned
two (2) faculty class advisors. All class business and activities
must have an advisor's approval before consideration for final
approval by the Principal. Class meetings constitute an opportunity
to foster a spirit of cohesiveness amongst class members. The
class meeting system provides opportunities for teachers to intervene
positively in support of students
The health of our students is a vital concern
at LAS and we employ a full time medical practitioner who is responsible
for providing medical aid to students and staff. This service
is available from 8 am until 4 pm each school day and the doctor
will also assist in the case of medical emergencies, provide referrals
to other professionals as needed and maintain student and employee
health records.
