Lahore American School curriculum is based on American standards and is developed within our school.

At LAS, we believe that curriculum is a living and active document, designed to meet the needs of our students, while keeping our mission statement.  Since we value teaching the “whole-child”, all our programs are research based and designed with the best interests of our students in mind.  These values are reflected in our standards based curriculum and are common across all grade levels.  Furthermore, specific grade level goals and objectives are established to meet the standards and contents required for individual success.

Our elementary, middle, and high school curricula performance standards are uniform to ensure rigorous student academic performance.  They are based on a philosophy of teaching and learning that is consistent with current research, exemplary instructional practices, and American standards.  Our programs provide every content area a set of competencies for each grade level and high school course, while identifying the essential knowledge and skills that all students need to be active, lifelong learners in a global society.

Parents who are considering enrolling their child at LAS may visit our Curriculum Coordinator, where you may review our entire curriculum on site.

Elementary School

The Elementary School curriculum is holistic, culturally diverse, and literacy based that makes learning meaningful to our students. Our American programs integrate skills, content, and concepts in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, ICT (Information and Communication Technologies ), PE, Urdu and the Arts.  Students take an active role in learning through small group instruction, hands-on lessons, and cooperative learning strategies where learning is individualized according to students’ needs and curriculum criteria.

Middle School

The curriculum and other components of the program for students in grades six, seventh, and eight address all strands of development—physical, intellectual, emotional, moral, and aesthetic—in a rigorous, varied, and exciting manner. We foster growth in each of these areas through the recognition of new aptitudes and accomplishments in the classroom, and throughout the Middle School as a whole. We structure our programs so that students achieve personal development as well as basic skills mastery.  Middle School students are offered courses in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Urdu or French, ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), Music and PE.

High School

The curriculum for Grades 9-12 offer students an in-depth study in selected disciplines. In the high school years, students refine basic skills and apply through understanding and practice what has been learned.  Student expectations are high.  The high school program prepares students for the demands of a high-tech world and global economy.  We consider our high school program of studies to be a college preparatory curriculum.
