At Lahore American
School, we value the participation of parents and others in
our students' academic growth. We take great pride in our after
school activities as a valuable way for family members
to experience a shared social and academic experience.
On the 7th of October, LAS celebrated
its annual Family Literacy Night whereby students and parents
from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 came together for a fun
filled evening of literacy activities.
The night proved to be a great
opportunity for parents to share a hands-on learning experience
with their children. Activities were many and varied, including
singing rhymes and poems together, unscrambling words to find
their meaning, enjoying a reader’s theater, taking part
in a friendly debate, visualising stories, joining the ranks
of thespians in a shared dramatisation, listening to a variety
of speeches, acting out words in a shared activity, listening
to an author read a story, exploring literacy websites, making
pop up books and many more. A
great night was had by all!
