At Lahore American School
we view participation in extra curricular activities as
an important component of communication and relationship
building. A wide range of co-curricular activities are
offered
to enhance the commitment, personal growth, social skills
and life experiences of our students.
Service initiatives occur throughout
the school at every level led by teachers and students.
The after school clubs program provides elementary students
with ways to experience sports, arts, cooking and other
activities.
At LAS, we strive to involve students
and parents in a number of events and activities held throughout
the school year, including the annual family literacy night,
monthly school assemblies and Spirit Week. These projects
are designed to serve as community building activities and
as a means of further communication between students, parents
and teachers in a relaxed and supportive location within
the campus grounds.
Our SAISA (The South Asian
Inter-Scholastic Association) sports program offers our students
opportunities to compete abroad in a number of sporting events
including swimming, soccer and basketball and provides numerous
activities designed to promote health and fitness. Varsity
sports teams for middle and high school represent LAS at tournaments
hosted by SAISA in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and
Pakistan. Model United Nations, NESA math competitions, national
honor society, drama and many other activities are also offered
to our students as a way of expanding their growth and experience.
At LAS we also celebrate
the annual Pakistani and American holidays and activities
are often organised around these events, in particular Halloween,
Pakistan National Day and Valentine's Day. All of these events
and activities are viewed as an important and valued component
of our school schedule and serve as a valuable way of engaging
our students in international cultural experiences.
Please contact the LAS Athletic
Director and Activities Coordinator to learn more about these
programs.
